Bye Bye Ford E-Series
Back in 1961 the predecessor to the Econoline full size van was introduced. By 2006 the workhorse of the Ford vehicle lineup had been the best selling American full size van for 26 years. The E-Series has been a great success for Ford Motor Company, consistently holding the majority of the full size van market.
However, Ford has decided to give this up and pursue a new path. At the end of 2014, Ford will no longer manufacture the E-Series chassis. Various people including many service companies, contractors, and mobility vehicle manufacturers are not pleased. One customer exclaimed, ‘Ford needs to get its head out of the clouds and come to earth.’ Generally speaking, there is a negative attitude about the discontinuation of the Econoline and people are upset to see the Ford E-Series fade away while it’s still in high demand.
