Saving money doesn't start or end with rebate offers however. There are also a wide variety of state and federal programs available to financially assist you with your van conversion, wheelchair carrier or scooter lift purchase. Check out the financial aid offered by Michigan to learn about assistive technology programs, state funds, and nonprofit organizations that offer financial assistance to those in need of transportation.
Disability Grants and Funding in Michigan
These grant programs may or may not assist in the purchase or conversion of a wheelchair van. Check with the local Michigan grant provider for more details.
Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund - provides low interest loans to help you purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle or to modify a vehicle.
Michigan's Assistive Technology Program - provides low interest loans to people with disabilities to purchase handicap vans.
Applying for Michigan Grants or Mobility Funding
Michigan residents seeking handicap grants for a disability should contact the above mobility funding programs. In turn we at Advantage Mobility Outfitters will work with any mobility funding such as government assistance programs, veterans programs, state mobility grants or other disability funding programs from numerous organizations to fund your new handicap van, used wheelchair minivan, mobility van conversion, or mobility equipment purchase and install for your current vehicle.

- Easter Seals - helps disabled people and their families overcome obstacles on the road to independence.
- MS Society - helps ms patients with funding and grants for mobility equipment and conversions.
- Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) - assists individuals with obtaining durable medical equipment through its national equipment loan program and provides referrals to community resources.

Chrysler AutoMobility Program
The Chrysler Mobility Program will provide cash reimbursement to assist in covering the cost
of installing adaptive driver or passenger equipment on a vehicle. Conversions to full-size Van Ramps
and Ram Wagons and minivans may be reimbursed up to $1000 while all other Chrysler Corporation cars,
and trucks qualify for a maximum of $750.

Ford Mobility Motoring Program
The Ford Mobility Motoring Program offers financial assistance of up to $1,000 for the
installation of adaptive equipment, and up to $200 on alerting devices for hearing
impairments, lumbar seats and running boards on new Ford Motor Company vehicle purchases
or leases.

GM Mobility Reimbursement Program
Under the GM Mobility Reimbursement Program, a customer may be
reimbursed up to $1,000 of the cost of any eligible aftermarket adaptive
equipment when installed (or reinstalled) on any eligible purchased or
leased new vehicle manufactured by GM, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet,
GMC, HUMMER, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn divisions.
To take advantage of
the GM Mobility Reimbursement Program, vehicles must be adapted within 12 months
from the date of purchase/lease and a claim submitted within 90 days from the date
of adaptation.

GM Mobility Reimbursement Program
Saturn Mobility Program
Saturn will reimburse you for the cost of eligible aftermarket driver or passenger mobility
equipment, including installation, for the actual amount up to $1,000. If you require aftermarket
driver or passenger alerting devices, Saturn will reimburse up to $200, including installation.
If you require both mobility aids and alerting devices, Saturn will reimburse a total of $1,000
($200 for alerting devices and the remaining portion of up to $800 for mobility aids).
This is available on an eligible new or unused, certified label used, or leased Saturn.
Leased vehicles are eligible with written permission from the lessor. Vehicles returned
under the vehicle exchange program or demonstrator vehicles are ineligible for reimbursement.
We will also reimburse the costs of reinstalling adaptive aids from your previous vehicle into a new Saturn.

The Toyota Mobility Program
Toyota Mobility is a program designed to address the transportation needs
of Toyota owners who have a disability or who have a family member with a disability
or mobility issue. The program provides cash assistance of up to $1,000 of the cost of
adaptive equipment, comprehensive mobility resource information, and it offers flexible,
extended-term financing of up to 84 months for the vehicle and the adaptive equipment.
Reimbursements must be applied for by the original vehicle purchaser within
90 days of the completion of the adaptive equipment installation. Equipment installations
must be completed within 12 months of the new Toyota vehicle delivery date.

Lexus Mobility Assistance Program
Lexus will provide a reimbursement of up to $1,000 to each eligible, original retail customer for
the exact cost they paid to purchase and install qualifying adaptive driving or passenger equipment
for transporting persons with physical disabilities. This offer applies to all purchased or leased
new 2001 and later Lexus vehicles. Leased vehicles require advance written lessor approval of
adaptive-equipment installations.

The Honda Customer Mobility Assistance Program is proud to support the mobility
needs of drivers and passengers with physical disabilities. Honda will provide
a reimbursement of up to $1,000 to each eligible, original retail customer for expenses
incurred to purchase and install qualifying adaptive equipment on any eligible purchased or leased Honda vehicle.
